ie.Records & 2Funky Arts are proud to bring you a formidable night of live hip hop, featuring a headline appearance by one of the UK’s most respected rappers.

Skinnyman’s Council Estate of Mind album set the scene on fire when it was released in 2004. The Mud Family ambassador was already a living legend by that point, but the release of his debut studio album elevated him into the upper echelons of rap royalty, while also gifting the world with one of the most important and influential records of all-time in the process. The echoes of Nas’s debut were not limited to the title, with Council Estate of Mind channelling the same energy that the young Queensbridge MC had manifested a decade earlier.

Now, with the album still held in the same high regard 16 years later, Skinnyman returns to the fore with a brand-new rendition of the album, combining elements of live music and theatrical production. Accompanied by a full live band, as well as some of his day one collaborators, including Mongo and Shakezpeare, this latest incarnation promises to be the most exciting to date.

Keeping that live music vibe going throughout the night, we have lined up a trio of local support acts for the event, who will also all be joined on stage by a three-piece band. The performances will feature live versions of pre-existing tracks, as well as exclusive unreleased material. Your host for the night will be fellow UK veteran, Rukus.

All of this would not be complete without a healthy dose of live art, scratch DJ showcases and accompanying merch stands, giving you the full rap show experience that has been sorely missing from the cultural landscape over the last two years.
